I find that the ST-2 works the best on LowBand. I use it strictly for Lowband.

I have two of them and for no money I wont sell them. They are very precious to me

Would never part with mine!. It survived a 55 mph wind gust last week during a severe thunderstorm and not even one of the elements broke. Shows the quality of them and importantly the RF performance of them. I used to have 2 ST-2s but a storm years ago collapsed the mast they were on and damaged both of them. Stupid me, should have replaced them back when RS sold them. Just have only 1 currently.

If someone wants to spend $250+ I happily pull mine down and sell it! I bought mine just before they stopped making them and due to the space I had to install it my discone outperforms it.

I have a Yagi similar to this one mounted on a homemade stand on a book shelf in the radio room. It works best for monitoring my local county's 800 MHz P25 simulcast trunking system. Correct antenna positioning is critical for good voice decoding.

On the tower is a larger 15 dbi Yagi similar to this one. It is used to monitor other 800 MHz trunking systems in 3 adjacent counties.

I'm using good quality RG6 cable along with quality N adapters and BNC connectors. Most of these Yagi's come with a female N connector.

To get to this configuration I had to do a lot of trial and error mainly because I'm located almost equidistant between 2 strong simulcast towers and the other county I like to monitor is 20 miles away and has 15 simulcast towers!

Your location and what you want to monitor may require a lot of experimenting and changing antennas to get satisfactory results. Be flexible and have fun.

NIce find on the indoor-sized Yagi, and for a very reasonable price!

3 hours remaining and $67, looks like the trend of high priced ST2's may be over!

Final bid $331 - they are going up - not down.

It can't be about greed if the auction started low. It's about WANT. That is what is driving the prices up. The seller cannot drive the price up unless they have shill bidders. Even so, they make nothing if the shill is the highest and will be NARU'ed if found out.

No, but the seller CAN cap the bid when it reaches a ridiculous figure ! Assuming they have a concience, they could pull their item from the auction. I'm sure most will laugh at this thought, but I would pull my item before lining my pocket with cash over what's really fair. :( 73, n9zas
