I would like to get different antenna's for both of the scanners listed in the subject line. I however am unable to mount a rooftop antenna due to reasons i cannot say. Right now i am using the stock ruber ducky and the stock metal antenna that came with both scanners. I have been reading that the 800 mhz optomized rubber ducky does a lot better than most of them. I was just wondering will the 800 mhz rubber ducky pick up items a lot better on other freqs as well. If so i would just get a 90 degree to adapt to my base scanner and just use the provided adaptor for my handheld. 2 of the Trunks that i do scan are on the 800 mhz bands but most of the police and fire in my country run around 150-160mhz. Also the ham radio skywarn runs around 430-450. Any suggestions would be befinical

You could get the RS 800 antenna for the 396 and the GRE 800 (no need for an adapter) for the base. They both work really well on most frequencies.
