I just wanted to take a few moments to announce that I've completely overhauled our Antennas wiki page. I had found a bunch of URLs that I wanted to add, but found that things were getting entirely too crowded. So the topic has been split into 3 pages;

a. Loops - MW and SW - a very popular topic, particularly for the MW DXers, and for the folks that want something portable for their portable receivers. This page can also be used for links pertaining to delta loops and other full sized HF antennas (Condo owners like me are green with envy....) We don't have any such links yet, but they would be welcome

b. HF Antennas - you name it, we probably touch on it in one way or another. End feds, dipoles, and even some of the more unusual ones. We have links for homebrewers and a few reviews as well

c. Scanner Antennas - just as it says. Commercial retailers, reviews and some selected models that have been mentioned on this forum from time to time. You will notice that those models are seperated into categories for easier reference. We could use the URLs for the RS 20-032 mag mount and the 800 Mhz duckie...

Which brings me to another point. The Wiki is not just mine and the other admins; you can edit these pages as well. Too often, a good link will slip by and eventually disappear because that's the nature of the software here; putting it on the wiki would help ensure it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. All you need do is click on the 'Wiki' link in the blue toolbar. There, you will be taken to the main page, and in the right hand upper corner you will see 'create an account'. There you can create your Wiki account which is seperate from your RR account, and is also free.

Once you do that, it's recommended you download the quick guide to editing that's linked off the Wiki main page. If you can code HTML or C, you can do this. In fact, some of the coding is related to both.

Those of you that find antennas - or manufacturers - that provide a good product or service are highly encouraged to add that data to the Wiki. If you have comments that you wish to save away, put them on the 'discussion' tab, which is associated with each page. Please keep the page with the URLs (referred to as an 'article') just for links and brief comments only.

Thanks for taking the time to read this - and your fellow enthusiasts will thank you too.
