I meant that other developers do support PII for many years now, as opposed to his reasons not to support it.

His reason being not to infringe upon the IP of DVSI (AMBE+2). If "other developers" choose to infringe on the IP of DVSI, and find a way to justify stealing intellectual property, so be it.

I'm pretty sure it logs everything on the P25 side as far as affiliations, voice grants etc on a Type II system, it just won't decode the digital talkgroups (it doesn't decode anything digital, of course).
UT2 decodes Phase 1 FDMA audio, but not Phase 2 TDMA audio. It does provide rich logging on many flavors of trunking systems, including SmartNet and P25 phase 2.

Scanners that will follow Type II trunking are cheap and plentiful. I can't think of a reason that I'd tie up my SDR set up following one when I have three scanners sitting on my desk that can do that.
Logging, and it integrated nicely with Trunking Recorder.

What's not stable? Unitrunker 2 is stable and under active development - been running it for several years now.
You're active enough in that group to know that things inadvertently break from preview to preview as Rick adds features and tweaks stuff. I also have run UT 2.x on multiple computers since the first release in 2016, however I would not call it "stable" from a casual end-user standpoint. When I install a new preview, I do so on a test setup, as I expect to find some bugs. If it were truly stable, Rick would've promoted it to the public release, which he has not. 1.0.33.6 is still the official public release...from nearly 5 years ago.

I understand what you are saying, but it is stable in the sense that it doesn't have basic functional failures. Yet it is still developmental software and has problems as new features are integrated, but they are typically promptly corrected and it is entirely usable.

Uhh... if I "Start" my Airspy right now on any Type II trunk system and let it track for 5 min and then "Stop" the Airspy the UT app crashes. No it's not stable -- by any sane definition.

I was going to say "You are SUPER HIGH right now" but GRT8000 did it for me! What a swell guy! :ROFLMAO:
Been running 24/7 here for several years. Any issue is minor, and quickly corrected. Most issues I see are user induced, lol. Airspy R2 or Mini on a type 2 system. No issues here.

Which 2.1 preview are you running? Perhaps it's an older version that had an issue that has been corrected. Preview 88 was released today.

This is the test rig in my office running a variety of progs. The Moto Type 2 system is in the upper right, A43F.
