Any Keen to swap TG's for the large Orion Digital Network?
I'm currently trying to figure out how to scan trunking in chch myself. I downloaded everything off radio reference but havent heard a thing all day.
Otherwise fleetlink and actionnet teamtalk is not able to be scanned unless you have PC software to use it properly or you load the traffic channels in on a conventional group.

I have a uniden UBCD325P2 and trying to scan the Orion Network DMR, Kordia KorKor Tetra and TL Parker Apco p25 but have not heard a sound. Not sure what transmits on these networks and not sure if they're even capable of being listed to by a scanner as from what I understand Uniden need DMR and I think Tetra unlocked and installed by paid software through uniden.

I'm trying to get my head around the TG's around Palmerston north without having any info that I can find. I've logged quite a few frequencies but with knowing all the frequencies in one group it's hard to put the data into the scanners. All of my frequencies are around 416MHz and mostly on 6.26kHz channels which supposedly are digital in the US but are all analogue voice here.
My other entries are in a post titled "Setting up trunking with no info!" in the "General Scanning Discussions" forum right at the top!
Sounds like the old MPT1327 network around that frequency.
You'll have to get the traffic channels and load them into your scanner as conventional to use them. I found them all myself by searching the frequency range which is between 406.000 and 420.000. Just lock out and ignore the channels that sound like dial up internet as they are the control channels. They're only needed if you're using PC software to listen to MPT1327 properly. Otherwise no scanner made can debunk it.

Best way to map out MPT1327 is with an SDR and unitrunker.

Also the information on RR for the Chch Orion network is heavily outdated.

You can listen to one side of a trunking system but the hard part is actually finding the frequencies. I searched/scanned the band from 410 to 420MHz for a couple of hours in the mid-morning and noted all the frequencies that the radios stopped on (2x UBCT8s). I tried to enter the frequencies into the Trunktrack system but it couldn't tie the system together. Once the master station transmits it keeps the carrier on so neither radio will scan to find the input. I tried locking out the master on the other radio so that it scanned but of course that just locked on another master. I got some advice that the repeater offset was 5MHz but that didn't seem to find the input - not knowing what system they are using doesn't help so after all that playing around I thought that a nice cold or two one was in order!

I'm very pleased with my UBC126AT - but to solve a lots of early problems it pays to RTFM!

the 325 is not tetra capable , and never will be ,

will do dmr and nxdn after paid upgrade to come soon for Au and nz ,

after a little practice, programming of digital systems is no problem,

How soon? The person who is organising the upgrades cannot give me a ballpark figure....so I went ahead and bought a USDS100....

Looks like a couple of sites missing from your list. Site 5 and 7. One is Crowne Plaza and the other is also an airport one too?

Hi,

No, there is nothing "missing". I have reconciled all the licenses in the band and used the emission designators (from the license), locations (from the license), site numbers (decoded by SDS200 off the air) and network IDs (decoded by SDS200 off the air). The information on RR at present for the network is wrong in various ways, and outdated.

If there were extra frequencies that I missed they would have to be transmitting without a license.

And regarding Crowne Plaza - different type of network (DMR T3), different network ID (01h) and different emission designator (7K60FXENN via 7K60FXWDT for Orion). Also if you look at the commencement dates for the licenses you will see the Orion licenses are much older (2012, 2013 with Burwood added in 2017 - vs 2019 for the DMR T3 network).

Daniel.

Appears Vital and Push-wireless digital trunking networks are steady growing, hearing alot more traffic.

Canterbury Communications and Fleetphone digital trunking networks are still active but slowly growing traffic wise

Are you going to make the frequencies available for others?

Curious, we in Au have the ACMA gov database to lookup frequencies, also have site map search option , gps search , ect ect
Does NZ have similar?
You maybe able to look it up ?

All frequencies are available,
Basic public information.

Except for the ones that aren't. You won't find police frequencies (including fire frequencies where the infrastructure is provided by Police) in there, nor will you find the NZDF network on ESB band (DLMRTS). Each license in the RRF has a security level and those with a high security level don't show up on the website.

Analogue is very available on other sites such as John geek and radio wiki etc

Digital is kept under wraps alot more, not sure why people won't upload to public platforms.

when I read this you may be confusing anyone (noob) that wants to listen at the end of the day the scanner sees both these emissions as DMR, h while one is Moto the other is that other brand both can be trunk tracked with uniden.

As you apparently did not understand what was said, let me explain. The two sets of frequencies had different technical specifications and were licensed at very different times, and therefore were unlikely to be in the same network as suggested. The fact that they are all DMR and can be tracked by Uniden scanners is irrelevant.

The suggestion that discussion in a forum should be restricted to a certain knowledge level is ridiculous.
