Tg 4992 & 4978 are new tg's I have searched the db for these and not had any luck. There is encryption on one or both, but just trying to identify them.
Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks.

Thanks andy. I was aware of 4976 the day it was put on line, so 4992,4977,and 4978 are all BPD car to car, and not the PD ?

Thanks :)

Are they now using 4992 in place of 4976 for car to car? I have them both listed in the database as car-car.

Tg 4976 is the the olny one I hear using speech in the clear, 4992 is encrypted all the time it seems.

Just heard encryption on 4980, any ideas if this is another BPD talkgroup? I'd imagine it is, given that it's surrounded by them.

And as soon as I hit post on my last message, I got more encryption on 4984.

Yeah it's sounds like somebody is encryption happy!
It bites if they think they need three or more private tg's.

If you have the capability to run Pro96com or log RIDs, that can give a clue as to who is using the encrypted talkgroups but it'll require lots of logging.

I put a section on the B-N wiki to centralize talkgroup observations:
Bloomington-Normal - The RadioReference Wiki

Is the Metro Explorers 463.350 ever used? I've never heard it.

I don't have the software, but that is a good idea. I know the rptr. for the explorers was up but like you, never actually heard traffic on it. Mclean county EMA has used UTAC3 (453.8625) on simplex in the past.
