Any Ideas For Indoor Antenna

Hello All,
I am looking into getting a antenna for my home base scanner. Just wandering if there is anything for inside the house other than the factory antenna that came with the scanner that works well, as opposed to sticking one out on the roof or outside of the house somewhere.

You can put any antenna you like inside a house provided you have room for it and don't mind ugly.

Thanks KB, I also wasn't sure if there is any particular antenna that when used indoors has better reception than others....I wasn't sure if purchasing an antenna and using it indoors would be worthwhile..

I have a scantenna mounted in my attic, and it works great. Night and day difference between it and the stock antenna that came with the scanner.

Had a Discone on a mic stand in the bedroom, wife really loved that.......

Inside or outside, height is the most important thing.

Cable loss is second, and the type of antenna (within reason) is probably third.

The walls of your house are just an obstruction that is going to affect all antennas equally.
