I am located in Orange County New York .

I can hear following systems fine from my location;

New Jersey Public Safety Interoperability Communications (PSIC) Network

Fort Lee Borough P25

Wayne Township, NJ P 25

However the following systems I hear nothing

Morris County (Project-25) I do receive a signal but never hear hear any voice channels.

Bergen County P 25 no signal at all.

New Jersey Transit (North) No signal at all.

I am thinking it is propagation.

Is anyone else receiving the three systems I am having trouble with ?

I am using a Uniden HP -1 and a GRE PSR 800 to receive.

Bergen County's system has a pretty weak signal, you can barely pick it up in northern Rockland, so forget about Goshen. NJT also has a pretty weak signal to the north and west. The Morris County P25 system has decent coverage maybe 10-15 miles out, depending on what your elevation is and what antenna you're using.

I can't get Morris county from Newton, so the signal definitely doesn't travel too far.

Newton has a decent size hill/mountain blocking you from receiving the system. Also antenna pattern on Jefferson tower is pointing back into county so signal off the back null will be substantially weaker.

The system is designed to concentrate the signal in the county where the users are located.

Did you apply the latest firmware for the HP-1? That may resolve the issue are having with the Morris Co P25 system.
