I have a BCD436HP and am thinking of getting the NXDN upgrade. I just found out that the local RR's use some NXDN. Is there any other interesting traffic on NXDN in the LA area? Thanks, Bob.
Here are a few of the identified trunked system in LA. Check the LA database page for others. There are lots of identified NXDN conventionals listed there (focus on the Mode column per table in the DB) & I'm sure there may be others that haven't yet been identified. Part of the fun is tuning around to hear what you can hear.
I know that this is much further out that you are inquiring about, however AMR operates some VHF NXDN frequencies in Riverside County. I monitor them on a Kenwood NX-200. They seem to have very good coverage and sound good.
Not necessarily "interesting" to scan but, I have LA Metro Transit (which includes NXDN) programmed in my 996P2 which I listen to occasionally.
Listed under L.A. County>Transit.

I only monitor to Metro occasionally, haven't been that interested in them. I'm more inclined to listen to Metrolink and other conventional rail which is analog. I'm in the West Valley near the Orange Line which is bus and not on any of the systems we are discussing. The two BNSF NXDN channels in SoCal (Hobart Yard) are out of my monitoring area.
