I’m perfectly happy with my HP2’s and my BCD325P2’s but I was just wondering if there was anything on the horizon I should start saving for?

I think it's safe to say that Uniden is working on "something."

HOWEVER: outside of Uniden, no one knows when it will be released, what features it will/will not have, what it looks like, what it smells like, how much it will cost, how many internal organs it will replace, what your family will say, how many barrels of oil it will refine, nor how much wood a woodchuck is capable of chucking.

Good or bad, Uniden is famous for keeping R&D under wraps. I think it's safe to say that Uniden, like most technology enterprises, is always working on something new.

If Unication makes a scanner like their G4,G5 Pagers work's it should wipe out all scanner makers

And with the monopoly, they'll jack their prices up so that people will find another hobby and then they'll be out of business, :)

In UPMan's blog last week, he mention last there is an engineer coming from Tokyo that he was going to meet. If I'm correct on the timeline it should be this week !

So either a new firmware for the *36HP's or most likely a new scanner - working prototype we hope.

New firmware to include support for a paid upgrade to nxdn would be awsome
