Ah, OK, "big E" versus "THE big E".

By the way, what happens if one were to actually type out E N C R Y P T I O N ? Do I get in trouble? Do the radio gods smite me? Will my rotating orange beacon start spinning in the wrong direction? I'll get demoted to noooob?

Icom's and other ham radios manufacturer's offerings are not usually billed as scanners and aimed at more general listening on ham frequencies and short wave stations. The internet has reduced short wave offerings, but there are other things like number stations and pirate radio that still appear.
