Is anyone in Daytona to Jacksonville hear a chopper giving directions to the officers sounds like Daytona area. I hear the chopper in St Aug with 5 bars.
Volusia County uses it all the time when working with Seminole County. Volusia County has a MA/COM System and Seminole Type II Motorola. Anytime there is a need for a chopper in Seminole County and Orlando's is not available they will call Volusia's and use Tac 2. Also anytime Seminole is called into Volusia for a fire they use Tac 2. Seminole does not ever call Volusia into Seminole County, they feel they are to good for a Volusia’s Fire Department. I worked there for a long time and we never called Volusia in for a call. They would call Orange County in before Volusia even if the call was in the northern part of Seminole County. That is what happened when the furniture warehouse went up in Sanford. I was the Tac Operator that night, command called for 2 Orange County units to the scene, I asked when not Voluisa they are a lot closer, and I was told, “No, We don’t use Volusia they only use us.”
I have also heard Voluisa using it for everday ops when there 800 system is busy or special events are going on.
