Any Repair shops in DC/MD/N VA

Anybody know of a reliable Repair shop in DC MD or Northern VA. The post in the power adapter socket has snapped off of my BC 250D. I do not like the idea of mailing it off for however many weeks

you mean the coaxial barrel connector that supplies power...the center pin has broken??

the socket itself should run less than a dollar, find a good "ham buddy" that has soldering skills, and he should have no problem doing it. call Uniden directly to get the part from them, while it might be a little more expensive, you're guaranteed a proper fit.

This gentleman is a ham - in fact, he's worked on one or two of my radios, and very reasonable, too...
