You are asking a radio to walk on water with
that band coverage. wink You have 3 choices.

1-use a laptop and an SDR dongle

2-buy a vintage realistic patrolman radio off eBay

3-I think the best choice is, buy an Eton or
CC Crane am/fm radio and get a separate handheld analog Uniden scanner if you don't need digital for the VHF Lo HI band.
Then you will have portability and will be in DX heaven.

When I was aa kid, my dad brought home a Sony 7F-74DL for me as a birthday gift when he returned from Germany on a TDY.

I could really pull in some AM stations with this radio. I used to listen to the Reds/Cardinals games in Cincinatti, and the Cubs playing in Chicago. I was about 15 miles east of St. Louis at the time. AM stations from Nashville, Memphis, Little Rock, etc were all very good. Farther stations could be received with some hash and fading, but were intelligable.

There were a lot of other stations I could receive on this. The model above also has a shortwave band. A different model has only AM/FM.

Most modern DSP SW radios have MW, SW and 64-108 MHz FM capability, and pretty good performance for the money. Higher bands is more specialty / scanner radio territory, really.

Not sure about one radio covering it all, unless you want to pay out a lot of money for a 160M-6M / 2M ham band rig -- if they make those.

No idea why you'd want a single band radio for VHF Hi Band or thereabouts. Difficult to find those. Even single band MW radios are rare, they're usually AM-FM.
