I would go to HRO myself because they cater to a clientele that uses radios themselves. You don't wanna make the same mistake as a member in another thread. He bought an expensive digital scanner only to find out that most of the police traffic is encrypted in Orange county and nobody can hear them any more. Something tells me that licensed ham radio operators would have told him that a Pro-96 isn't goona work before he spent that money. Frys is a store for computers, DVD players and big screen TVs. Those clerks aren't likely to know very much about these new sophisticated scanners any way...
