I have a Radio Shack Pro-164 Scanner and I am trying to find a better portable antenna. Is there a better handheld antenna that is optimized for Railroad Frequencies (160-161 MHz) range? Any recommendations will be great.

Thanks.

Also, the RadioShack 800MHz antenna is wide banded enough for VHF/UHF reception as well.

VHF Antenna for Pro-164

I use a Smiley Antenna Co. VHF antenna on my 164 for listening to Tugs and Trains. Can't beat it for sixteen bucks. Won't increase the range much but makes the signals you get more solid. Very flexible. The one I use is six inches long. At home I put a Diamond RH77ca on it which is fifteen inches long. About thirty bucks.
