Hi, Also To update software they need the serial number, but the number on the radio and box are different. When I tried the program it says checksum number is incorrect. Inside label is 383B58000069 and on radio screen is 38302058000069-007.
The box says 58000069.
Uniden upgrade pages does not accept letters.
Continues to say numbers are incorrect. Appreciate any advice.

Upgrading the firmware in Australia has been quite hit-or-miss. The AU team have a highly delayed process to review firmware before making it available for the version of the USDS Sentinel app that you need to use.

That's the other thing, make sure you download the version of Sentinel that works with the USDS variation of the devices, otherwise I think you'll run into problems.

Regarding the upgrades for unlocking various features, I didn't have any issues with that, but, it was several years ago that I did it. I do recall I had to use the Home site (it had a different URL then, but, that seems to be where it is now).

The USDS version of Sentinel seemed to stop at version 2.0.5, which is what I have been using. I have not tried the non USDS version 3.x to see if that works.

As for the serial number, can't help you, as I am pretty sure I went with what the screen said and it worked. The Uniden Australia people did answer my support questions years ago, but, it took several days. Good luck!

Hi

Just a word that all Firmware related updates are all done via the Sentinel Software. If you need a copy let me know as I have access to it.
As for "Digital" if you are referring to NXDN and DMR and the WaterFall all these are purchased via the Uniden Website

I luckily purchased my SDS100 secondhand Each upgrade is based off the Key in the radio which is located and it came with the upgrades and then its a matter of entering the key into the radio to enable these options. I have all except ProVoice as that system is not used in Australia.

Antennas you have many different options, you can try a Moonraker Desktop Discone Antenna if you want something inside, otherwise a good external wide band discone antenna will get you some decent results. Make sure its up high!

Hi VK3VSN, Thanks for your reply. Just ordered the moonraker. Found a few digital channels. It's a steep learning curve. Got a magnetic antenna for car, with much improved results. I drive regularly to airport from down south and interesting to hear all the air traffic close to strip. I'll have do the proper programming when have a longer list of frequencies., cheers, Rolan

Is the manual for the Oz model different - specific to the USDS100? If it is, is there any way I could ask someone to scan it, so I could add it to the Archives I've got up (addresses in sig - copypasta.) Thank you!

To my understanding the manual.should be the same for Australia you can download it from

Thank you - I hadn't seen that manual anywhere, so I was curious. 1) I wanted to find out what was different; and 2) I wanted to put it up with the rest of the user manuals, service manuals, schematics, &c, &c that I've been collecting to host.

Feel free to check it all out, you may find something you like or want in there! I don't have a comprehensive list. I may generate one, it would just take me an awful lot of time to do it; I got a tranche of manuals and such from a user here on a thumb drive that forms the main body of the Archives -

Done. But, there's really not much to getting into them - if you have the link, you can get in. You just have to copypasta the link (or type it all out, if you're a masochist. . .)

Just answered you in-thread - no, not yet. Still looking. . . The Archives are constantly subject to change,
