I'm trying to omit a single frequency from a band limit scan on a Yaesu FTR-7900. The manual shows how to omit a channel if I'm scanning from general memory a bank. However, I'm interested in scanning a very narrow section of the air band (119-129), but 125mhz keeps sticking. I can squelch it, but it's pretty strong and I end up losing some of the weaker signals that I want to hear. Does anyone know how to omit or lockout a single frequency when scanning like this?

Did you try the technique during a search? (Note - I haven't and was wondering if it worked that way.)

I have a 7800 which has the same menu structrue as the 7900 and it is not possible to lock out frequencies from band lor limit search.
I haven't seen that feature in any amateur rigs.

Dave - I have not.

nd5y - Thanks for confirming my suspicion. My real scanners all have this option, but I was hoping to leave them dedicated to something else for a while.

Thanks to both of you.
