The OP was definitely right about a bug in the scanner. And so much hate? The connection problems are severe and legitimate for many. At any rate, it's up to the company to support their product if they want people to spread a good word. Perhaps start a thread in the Uniden Tavern if you want to ***** about frustrated people trying to get help. Or actually hold off the posting unless there is something positive you can offer.

I had a problem with my 1080 that I ordered as soon as they were available. I got an immediate answer from support and a new FW version that fixed the issue was available the next day. Uniden is much slower to respond to issues. It can take weeks to even convince them there is an issue.
