Hi there,

I'm still compiling a list of Morris County buisness freqs, and along the way I stumbled upon a license for the Attorney General's Office of NJ, with a station location of Randolph NJ, specificly the Hanover Ave. tower. I just programmed these freqs into my scanner, No Dice yet, and Im wondering if anyone has heard any traffic on them, and knows any other info on these mystery freqs.

Here is a quick excerpt from the FCC web page:

Licensee: NEW JERSEY, STATE OF - ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE
Issue Date: 3/9/2005 9:23:48 AM
Transmitter Street: MORRIS CTY SHERIFF'S TOWER-HANOVER AVE
City, ST: RANDOLPH, NJ
Callsign: WQAU313

Frequency1: 470.0875
Frequency2: 470.2375
Frequency3: 473.0875
Frequency4: 473.2375

Transmitter Street: JAMES ANDREWS PARK
Callsign: WQCJ298

Frequency1: 472.875
Frequency2: 475.875

Transmitter Street: MORRIS COUNTY SHERIFF TOWER HANOVER AVE
Callsign: WQCV853

Same frequencies as Top License..

There are also transmitter locations listed for Little Falls, Newark, West Orange, Jersey City, Hackensack, Ringwood, and Cranford.

The issue date is listed as 2005 so this is farily new. It doesnt mention any of the 500 Mhz Atty. Gen. freqs however that were among the "Harveys War Wagon" topic a while back on the fordyce board. Im guessing these are more operational day to day freqs perhaps? Never know what you'll find buried in the FCC pages.

Those frequencies are part of the North-East Region's UASI frequency plan, here's a list:

UTAC1:

UTAC2:
Simplex: 453.7125 - PL 156.7 Hz

UTAC3:

NJUTAC6:

UTAC3 RPTR:

They're only used for Inter-Op, so don't expect to hear too much.

They have also been used for the Newark Penn Station to NYC Penn Station police communications involving NYPD, PAPD and Path Cops interop. Base is being run out of Cavens Point. Some periodic chit-chat but nothing of significance

Can't say that I've heard transmissions off the Randolph Sheriff's tower but I have heard activity, mostly on NJUTAC5 as far out as Roxbury - most likely off the West Orange tower. I concur with the previous post, not much of substance heard however.

I'm just guessing here, but aren't all of the NJUTAC frequencies simlucast on all of the towers? That would make the most sense, to me, at least.

Perhaps the Randolph tower is not active yet. I barely got bar on the signal meter in Roxbury so I would think that it should be a lot more if the Randolph tower was transmitting. Also heard activity during the PGA but I was on Rt. 287 so the transmission was much clearer - not sure which tower(s) I was picking up then.
