Has anyone heard anything about El Paso Co. Sheriff's new radio system? Like when they might have it up and running? Are they going to use the same frequencies? What the radio channel line up is going to be?

I looked up several of the FCC call signs for El Paso County and found no new trunking systems.

Ok, Thanks. But El Paso Co. Sheriff's Department is not on a trunking system, just El Paso Police Department. The Sheriff's Dept. is Conventional and is just upgrading from Analog to P25.

I heard El Paso Sheriff's office is on a VHF P25 trunking system now.... Can anyone confirm this?

EPC has two VHF P25 sites on this system: El Paso Project 25 Regional Communications System Trunking System, El Paso, Texas - Scanner Frequencies
One is simulcast and uses new frequencies, the other is a single mountaintop site using the SO's old VHF channels.

My mistake, I am able to hear some traffic on a phase I scanner. Fire/Rescue/EMS is in the clear with two talk groups: 7051 Dispatch and 7052 Fire ground or Tac. EPCSO is encrypted.

El Paso county is on a VHF Phase I P25 trunking system. Most radio traffic is encrypted.
