They are trying to get that 80% off! LOL
They can't go too fast, they're governed at 65. :(
I used to work there years ago.

I was just curious what they ran. I can hear dispatch just fine in Chicago, but all the drivers radios are set up so they can't talk to each other, they can only talk to dispatch. I was trying to figure out how to hear the mobiles also. The dipatch is always on 1 freq. so I don't think it is a trunk system.

Any Ideas on how they set up mobiles to only talk to dipatch, and not each other?

They probably have the mobiles talk out on one freq and listen on another. The base is set up just the opposite. Thus the Base talks out on Channel A and listens on Channel B, the trucks talk out on Channel B and listens to Channel A.

This is exactly the same as a repeater without the repeater...

Many taxi dispatch services do just this so that drivers do not poach on other's calls.

This allows the trucks to hear only the dispatcher and not be bothered by the mobiles talking back. They could be set to talk out on the base channel so they can talk to each other if so desired.

OK, thanks. That is probably what they did.
I have a list of all the freqs. they are assigned by FCC. I'll just try to get close to one of the mobiles, and get them to key up so I can get the mobile transmitt freq.
