I'm in the Tri-Cities and I'm hearing an MPT-1327 like digital signal on 161.9 (Marine channel 26) 24/7 with a CTCSS tone of 165.5, and I get it on more than than one unit. Is that intermod, harmonic or a real signal? If the latter, what is it doing on Marine ch 26?

Thanks

It's one of the auctioned VHF public coast channels. You would have to find the auction winner and any associated FCC licenses in that market area. They could lease the spectrum to to other parties. It could be part of a trunked system or something else.

Probably PacifiCorp. They are VHF MPT1327 and have sites around The Dalles and I assume Yakima. Most of their control channels I have found are 161.xxx
