Hello all I support Oklahoma here and I have been around scanning and Shortwave for about 3years.

Last year i heard alot of skywarn but this year i hear nothing? Anyone know whats going on?

Are you are talking about this last storm system that just moved through this weekend? If so, we did no activate because by the time the storms got to the Tulsa CWA they were not severe and it was about 3 AM when they moved in. I don't know if Norman activated or not? Hope this helps...Phil is right skywarn has not yet been activated yet this year. There is another storm system moving in on Wednesday and if we have severe weather with it in thr Tulsa CWA that would be the first net of the year. Hope this helps...

You ought to give them a listen during a severe weather event, You get to hear all sorts of cool storm spotter stuff sometimes 10 or more minutes before the TV stations have the info. peterJmag got me hooked last fall, and now I have 443.85 in my radio all the time in case they activate. From my understanding, when activated the W5IAS "super system" spans from Paris,TX to Fayetteville, AR
