Anyone Know Where to Download the latest RR Database (RRDB) Now That Whistler is Out of Business?

I used to update my old Radio Shack scanner using the Pro-668 software and updating the Radio Reference Database Files, but since RS is out of biz, I would just download the latest RR DB from the Whistler website, but now that Whistler is out of biz, I don't know where else I can download it. Can I just pull the latest DB from the Radio Reference website and copy into the DB folder? The latest version I have is RRDB_889 (from around September, 2024).

A full database download is not available at this time, you can pull particular agencies from the RR database, reformat the information for the EZ Scan format and import it, but just adding it to the db folder will not work because it is a different format.

I've been looking around for an option on this. I remembered some old posts about some members not using RR but created there own DB from excel and importing it into ezscan. just go to the state/county you want, then download it. its an excel file IIRC. OPen that file and delete what you don't want to listen to. save it and open ezscan and start with conventional tab. Lower right there should be an import options, click on file and direct it to your excel file. that should work . I believe it asks you to assign the columns; alpha tags, frequency etc

You can not import the RR database csv download directly into EZ Scan, it must be formatted for EZ Scan before you try to import it. You also need to import systems and conventional frequencies differently into EZ Scan, they are different formats.

To get the proper formats, the best way is manually enter one system and one conventional frequency, then export that manually entered information (you can not export info entered from the database). This will give you the proper format allowing you to copy and paste from RR database CSV file downloaded, which can then be imported. You must follow the same sequence for TGIDs and RIDs.

I have been copying the cvs file and modding the file as it imports to keep the db updated locally, its best solution for now till they find a way to allow us to fix it with a 3rd party software!

I think they need to take care of CURRENT owners before selling more scanners. fix update issue FIRST
As I said in the other thread, I think contacting the folks who sent in devices for repair before Whistler went dark should be a top priority. Not a fun one for them for sure, but certainly needs to be done to get some credibility in the marketplace.

Hi, My RS Pro-668 was updated by Whistler years ago and I just tried to do the updates and it's stuck on the "Waiting for USB" no matter what I do. Anyone have ideas? My desktop updated ok, thanks!

This is the latest updater. Save it to your computer and extract. Connect your scanner and run the updater.
