Anyone Monitor Coast Guard Sector St. Pete

Does anyone know the new frequencies used by the Coast Guard in the Tampa / St Pete Area ?
Units have been switching from CH21 to what they are calling coast guard law enforcemet channels, I heard them request ST Pete to swith to Law Enforcement 4 ?

Sector Mobile, AL is using CG111 162.325 NAC293 P25 and Sector New Orleans, LA is using CG112 163.050 NAC293 P25.

I would suspect that Sector St. Pete is using one of them also.

LE 4 could be a Rptr Pair on 168.1125 R / 163.2875 as per the NIFOG ver 1.3, it's been reported in other Regions that the CG also has those pairs in the channel plan.

Im hearing digital noise on CG112, it is P25, and i only have an old 245xlt..Guess im gonna have to upgrade

I have a PSR 500 and will try to get theCG112 happening, as for LE-4, that might be one of the channels on the Pinellas system, there are four law enforcement channels used for mutual aide/inter agency ops. Usually when the SO chopper is helping out another Pin. Co. PD.

It appears that the local CG Sectors are not using 21 for primary comms.
I am hearing a lot of noise on 163.05. It is p25, so i can not hear. Dont know if it is encript.

I'm hearing traffic on 156.2250 and 156.6000 also but its all scrambled. My PSR-500 shows NAC of 186 but nothing is intelligible.
Guess I got more research to do to see if I can get it to come in or not. Not familiar with P25 on my scanner so I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if it is just not going to pick it up.

I would not even waste your time with trying to listen to USCG working freqs when we are conducting LE OPS. All of our freqs are DES/AES encrypted. You will, however, be able to monitor CG ops during a SAR case, usually on VHF marine channels 21A,22A,23A,81A and 83A. Hope this helps.

I know that most of all the important VHF Maritime Frequencies are a required must to have in the LMR's the USCG has. So they still can use DES/AES on maritime frequencies and most display tags on the radio's go as " MM 16 " "MM 21" etc. etc. ...


Also as ecps92 said that National Interoperability Field Operations Guide has LE channels USCG assets use mostly to deal with inter-agency communications. I due know most of the bigger Law Enforcement agencies who deal with the Coast Guard on a daily basis has all the Net frequencies and are programmed by USCG. But i don't know if a few notice, but on the Radio Computer Console used for the Rescue 21 system you can see that most Sectors utilize the LE Calling channel as you can see it on the screen with the rest of the Net's and towers they use for 16, 21 and 22

I don't monitor the CG channels much in the TB area. From limited monitoring, 156.225/NAC 186 appeared to be P25 encrypted. 163.05/NAC 293 was P25 and not encrypted this evening, at least -- not much comms either.

156.2250 can also be allocated for Local Government, and with the NAC of $186 I would say that's what this one is.

Anyone check the RR DB for this freq and NAC ??

163.0500 $293 is USCG and depending on the Sector/Station, I have found the encryption varies in usage, from None to Part/Time to Full-time

freq 163.050 was active with strong signal but encrypted today in the pasco / pinellas area

Try 5696 for CG air traffic out of CG Air Station Clearwater.

5.696 MHz. Your welcome, and welcome to RR. If you have any questions don' hesitate to ask, it's a pretty helpful bunch here. TT. By the way, that's a High frequency (HF) frequency which you need a "shortwave" radio with Single Side Band to receive. In other words, it's not a scanner freq.
