These are the "Radio Frequency ID" tags, associated with keycard entry systems, inventory control, etc. A transmitter energizes a tag or card with an embedded RFID chip, and the chip broadcasts back information (card #, inventory info, etc). RFID tags are also going to start showing up in Passports to help with authentication of the owner.
Anyway, frequency ranges are:
125 kHz - 148 kHz
13.56 MHz
915 MHz
433 MHz
2.45 GHz
Of course you'll probably hear just a blip or a buzz, but this would be a good test of a radio with signal stalker.
