We have 15 CP200 VHF units in our squad. The County EMS has another dozen on their paid ambulances. Rx and Tx have not been a problem, they seem to be okay for the money. Only complaint is the single scan list.

Ok thanks, they do look like a nice radio but I know looks can be deceiving...lol I have heard negative reports about some of Motos new line including the Waris stuff (HT750) and wanted to get the word on this radio.

its a decent radio. only have 2 channels in one of the 16 channels we got for the FD and it works. I am trying desperatly to find the programming software for it so we dont have to spend 40 bucks a radio to get it done. anyone able to assist? would greatly appreciate it. I also have the ht 1250 and ht750 and love them both..

this is one of my favorite radios. i worked on a film crew not too long ago up here in norcal. apparently the industry standard radio is the cp200.

they are TOUGH. one guy dropped one from a condor (personnel lift) way up in the air. It hit the concrete and the battery broke away (as it's supposed to) and bent the crap out of the antenna... still worked fine.

great battery time too... my only complaint is that the external mic/speaker connector isn't great. really worn radios can have trouble keeping the connector in, but then again, most people aren't switching headsets and earpieces 3+ times daily.

LOVE the charger too... super fast, and easy to swap out and charge extra batteries.

My squad bought the software and the RIB box/cables from Motorola when we purchased the 15 units. I would program it for free, but you are in New Jersey and I am in South Carolina so shipping might eat up the difference in free programming and paid programming.

I just purchased a 16 channel Motorola CP-200 the batteries last for days and I get great reception on it. Skip sometimes gets to be a little too much though.
