• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a cheap wp-9900 by Anysecu. The RX works great! But I am unable to transmit. I have reset and checked all settings. When hooked to SWR it will not register. I got the radio through Facebook so I can't return it. Think it's a lost cause or an easy fix and I'm just new to the game?! Thanks for any help guys! (Antenna being used is fine. SWR of 1:01 and works fine with other radios!)

Hi, did you manage to get this radio working? if not, I had the same issue, it's the output transistor/FET. It has probably blown it brains out. I have done some research and found that the original device (A5M06) is designed to work at 7.5V and output 6W, but in nearly all the QYT/Anysecu/Radiotity type mobile radios, they are pushed to over 14V and around 20W. If there is any minor mismatch with the antenna, like using a UHF ham antenna on GMRS, this will quickly kill the transistor. The best fix I have found so far is replacing this with a better rated device (A9M15), this is rated to work at 12.5V and output 16W. When I directly replaced my blown transistor, which is quite a job due to a big heat sync on the bottom of the circuit board, the output was measured at 22W on GMRS and 21W on 70cm and 2m. As the original device struggled to get to 19W, the best I ever saw was 18.5W, I think the replacement is very worthwhile. If you don't want to try replacing the FET and want to get rid of the radio, let me know, I may be interested.

I Strongly suggest Not buying any more radios from Fakebook marketplace, Better yet Delete Fakebook altogether ... just a suggestion.

Had mine about 8 weeks before Tx stopped working. For some reason I was able to transmit out of VFO in simplex but couldn't make any repeater Tx. Seemed like there was something about the offsets that wasn't working. I'm hoping to get a replacement and sell it. It was too late to return it unfortunately. I tried resetting a few times and got to the point where I couldn't get into channel mode from VFO.

So I have the same issue with my WP-9900. I ordered mine through Amazon. By the time mine stopped transmitting, I was outside the return window through Amazon, but I reached out to the seller through Amazon and surprisingly they sent me a new radio body free of charge. I saw your post a few weeks ago, so I decided to order an A9M15 to replace the FET. I removed the circuit board from the body, but I'm at a roadblock trying to remove the FET with the heatsink underneath. Would you be willing to share any details on how you went about removing and replacing the transistor?
Thanks! Mike WSEQ999/W8MCV
