Anything worth monitoring in Destin?

Does anyone live in or around the Destin area that could advise on what is worth listening to? According to the database there is a large PROVOICE system in place. For those that live in the area, what do you listen to?

The PROVOICE system is just the Floriada Statwide system.

The sheriffs department is in charge of patrol for Destin. They operate on a UHF Analog 460 MHZ system.

As stated above all Destin law enforcement and fire is provided by Okaloosa County. All analog. Ft. Walton is also analog. Conventional (non-trunking) freqs for both. Plus if your scanner will pick up the 225Mhz-399MHz range and you want to try military air comms then Destin is the place to be as Eglin AFB across the bay has numerous flight ops daily. All you need is a few app/dep freqs and you, like me, will end up with endless TAC comms, AR comms, etc. Yes, there is a lot of stuff to monitor in Destin, even the maritime freqs as well.

EXCELLENT! I am taking a trip down there this weekend through the week and will be hauling my 396 along. I have programmed the county freqs in and look forward to searching for other comms in the area.

On the State of Florida Statewide Public Safety System, what ID's do you recommend that I program in the radio. I could just program the control freqs and do control channel only but I would like to know what I am listening to. In other words, since the system is so large, which zones/talgroups do you reccommend I program?

Also if you get near Fort Walton you can pick up Hurlburt's and Eglin's digital systems in the 300-400 range.

You can forget about this, No scanner made will decode digital Provoice.
Just search Okaloosa and Walton counties in the RR database for the
freqs you would like to monitor, there are many to choose from.
