I just grabbed the Anytone because it'll be here tomorrow and I can return it.

I know Wouxun has a good reputation, but the only place I can find the 920 is from buytwowayradios.com I'm concerned it's a "dead" product, maybe BTWR is selling off what they have?

Just curious on the thoughts y'all have, and if I wind up returning the Anytone if the Wouxun is the way to go. I need a detachable face, and I really really want to be able to use CHIRP to program it.

I have the 5888UVIII and RT Systems software is the Safest way to program it. Chirp can lead to Problems and I don't suggest it. Otherwise it's a great radio.

Love my AnyTone D878UVII Plus if that helps. I think it is a solid radio, good performance.

Yes, I know mine is an HT but wanted to toss out how well made this radio really is. I also use RT Systems to program the radio with the exception of DMR since the RTS cannot manipulate the DMR ID list, only import it from a server.

Well, first thing I find out is, this radio doesn't support cross tone DTCS to DTCS. So a little better than the TYYT I returned, but this keeps me from using two nearby repeaters, and maybe others. I may wind up returning it and trying again... :-(

I just got started in Ham about 3 months ago, I bought AT-778uv
It was a great radio, except for the modualtion , I kept getting complaints about ny voice being low.
I used RT to program it, no problem with that.
I kept it three weeks and returned to Amazon
If they can fix the modulation problem, I would buy it again

Just to correct this... CHIRP didn't support programming this. When I found out that the radio does, I contacted the CHIRP folks and they've fixed in the most recent release of the software!
