AOR 5000 RECEIVER

My AOR 5000 was working fine but this morning when it was turned radio on no sound and showing a full signal on the meter, I have done a reset on radio no success still the same if someone can please help it would be much appreciated.

I did have the same problem a few years ago . It is a hardware problem . I sent my AR5000 to AOR France -prosic . They repaired it .

If they have followed the same protocols as here in the US and in the UK, I believe they has shut down all repair facilities except the one in Japan. Please report back here once you find out what they are currently doing.

Have you checked the manual for the trouleshooting advice? You can find and download an electronic copy on the AOR USA website: Discontinued Product | Archive | Support | AOR U.S.A., INC. Authority On Radio Communications
It explains how to do a CPU reset among other ideas. I'd try this route before shipping the radio off somewhere.

Squelch isn't all the way down is it?

Hi.
The Squelch is set at 12 o'clock and
When you rotary Squelch control it still shows a full reading on the meter. I have done a full reset and a reboot still the same the AOR AR5000 had not been used of about one year so a friend told me it could be the back up super capacitor ?

I did have the same problem a few years ago . It is a hardware problem . I sent my AR5000 to AOR France -prosic . They repaired it .
