How can I improve the sound quality on my receiver?

It is a 'Communications Receiver' and you get 'Communications quality' audio. However bear in mind the small size of the Unit and consequently the small size of its Speaker. All you can really try is a bigger external Speaker, or play it through a Computer via audio tailoring software.

Used to use various sized CB/Scanner speakers with paper or mylar cones until you find one that sounds good. Some may also amplify the lower background noise from the receiver circuits a graphic equalizer may help on cutting the noise down
