I have bought a AOR AR 2515 at a Hamfest here in Indianapolis on Sat 8-6-2011.I am wanting to buy the antenna with the BNC adapter that was included with the radio. When I bought the receiver the owner another ham told me that is worked well.I do have it on my workbench with a long antenna that is not cut for this band from 0.5-1500Mhz. I did hear short-wave feqs on it with the long antenna but the signal was not strong but it could be louder. Can amyone post any links, phone numbers, ect as to where I can find extras to buy to use on this radio.Thank You For Your Help.

Tim, I am not exactly sure what you are looking for. Due to the high sensitivity of the RF sections and wide front end, you'll want to keep the wire relatively short-perhaps no more than 20 feet depending on your location and such. You'll experience overloading at that point.

I have a first generation AOR 8600 that when used with a 10-15 foot wire works extremely well but overloads once that 15 foot length is exceeded. For the time being, it is being fed with a Apex confined space vertical I bought from Universal for around $100.00 some time ago. I have also used 102 inch metal CB whips with excellent results, your results will vary depending on installed height and man made RFI.

That's a nice radio, shame there is no SSB.

ACE, yep remember them very well. Bought a AOR 900 from them, wish I had held on to that....

I am not aware of any add on's, we had one in the shop to monitor our repeaters. Good luck to you!
