AOR like to watch videos also. It is good to record HD quality video for them to recreate step by step the issue.

I am testing just one search bank (Bank 00) with the following example:

LO: 156.000
HI: 160.000
MODE: NFM(IF15k) - (also tried FM15k)
IFB: 15k
STEP: 12.5k

The FFT Search does not stop with Mode NFM or FM 15k

(the Step Rate is displayed correctly)

This is as you mentioned an issue possibly with demodulation NOT step rate.
I also did some more research:

Bank 18: 118 - 137, Step 25 kHz, Mode 27 (AM6)
Bank 19: 118 - 137, Step 12,5 kHz, Mode 24 (FM15)

Result for cyber search:
Test 1 Bank 18: Search is working properly (stops at active frequencies and stores them in Memory Bank 38)
Test 2 Bank 19 Search does not stop but in Memory Bank 38 frequencies with any step rate are stored
Test 3 Transition Bank 18 to 19 with subdial: Bank 18 behaves as in Test 1 / Bank 19 as Test2
Test 4 Transition Bank 19 to 18 with subdial: Bank 18 behaves as in Test 1 / Bank 19 as Test2

So the problem is for sure linked to the demodulation mode.
I guess the random step rate of the stored frequencies in Test 2 is based on the AFC feature, which seems to be active in FM mode and on the IF bandwith (15 kHz). AFC is not available in AM.

Manually program Search Bank 00, 01 and 02 proves several bugs with FFT Search.

The difference is if the exact same search data is program to the Search Banks via remote commands, there are NO bugs, like for example you say possible demodulation issue.

This is the commands for my test:

SE00 SL0118000000 SU0137500000 ST008333 AU0 MD27 AT01 AN11 TTAirband
SE01 SL0156000000 SU0160000000 ST012500 AU0 BW5 MD00 AT01 AN11 TTFM Test 1
SE02 SL0156000000 SU0160000000 ST012500 AU0 BW5 MD24 AT01 AN11 TTFM Test 2
FL%
FF00 FS00 FT-80 (change FS00 to FS01 or FS02 for different FFT Search)
LC1

Maybe you will try to program using remote commands. Then will have no bugs.

J"ai remarqué aussi que le craquement qui existait lors d'une recherche en mode DMR est apparu en mode TETRA.

I'm always using the remote commands to enter search banks, memory banks and squelch or other parameters. To do it manually (e.g. via AR5700 key board) seems too complicated to me. So maybe this difference in radio handling may explain that we partially get to different conclusions.

I'm using a very simple terminal program (see attachment, but replace the suffix (txt) by exe), which allows sending direct commands as well as files. That's very convenient and simple since my AR5700 is connected to my PC all the time.

To your latest conclusion:
Yes, if using the remote command FFmm FSnn FT-ddd (see command list Para 3-5-8) the cyber search is working properly in terms that the frequencies found are stored in the Search Frequency List (see para 3-5-6). However the command LC1 (see page 29), which -as I understand- should affect the radio to transmit an active frequency via loudspeaker, doesn't work. This phenomenon applies for FM and AM mode.
So the bug in remote operation is bigger than during manual operation, where an active frequency is transmitted via loudspeaker in AM but not in FM. This is the bug I reported to AOR Japan. I did not inform the manufacturer about the LC1 bug because I was not aware about.

To summarize the cyber search bugs

Manual operation: Active frequencies found are stored with the preset step rate (in the search bank definition) in the Search Frequency List and in Memory Bank 38 for AM and FM mode.
The active frequecies are transmitted via loudspeaker in AM but not in FM mode.
Remote operation: Active frequencies found are stored with the preset step rate (FSnn) in the Search Frequency List for AM and FM mode
The active frequecies are not transmitted via loudspeaker neither in AM nor in FM mode even if LC1 is set

The 'Terminal' App did not work? The setup was easy but no response from receiver. Although very similar to the terminal software I use to send/receive commands.

I am not aware of a bug or issue with LC1 command.

The FFT Search (manual programming) has some bugs that we have discussed.

The FFT Search via remote commands has no issues so the problems are located elsewhere within the receiver, maybe front end? Some information you have written I will use as part of my report to AOR.

(because of the LC1 report, the FFT Search I do not think Bank 38 is used for storage? I have not checked this yet. The FFT search results from LC1 report are used differently here so Bank 38 is not checked. Before the FFT Search begins, I send the FL% command. FL% maybe for clearing Bank 38. I will check that soon).

CONCERNING TERMINAL APP

Initially you have to establish a connection to the AR5700 by the "connect" button. To send a direct command you have to enter the command in the gray field bottom left and to confirm with "enter" key.

CONCERNING LC1 COMMAND
I think I missinterpreted the expression "search result frequency report". Obviously this does not mean the transmission of active frequencies via loudspeaker but the creation of a continuous listing (e.g. DL-099 RF0123758333) of the active frequencies found.
Latter is started if I first enter
FF18 FS02 FT-100 (as file)
and thereafter
LC1 (as direct command)

It seems that this list is stored in the search frequency list (e.g. FL003 DL-099 RF0123758333).

If LC0 is set, there is no countinuous listing but the frequencies found are stored in the search frequency list

My firmware is still 403AR D3N5 P511A, the cybersearch is malfunctioning again; the small search bar freezes and the bank number displays -1 on searches in tetra mode and those set to a step of 8.33. The others work

You need to update Firmware to version 'March 2026 – Main_403A D4NCA P603A'

Click here for latest Firmware for AOR AR5700D

There are still issues with Cyber Search using Firmware Main_403A D4NCA P603A. It does appear as if the 8.33kHz step rate bug has been resolved.

The Cyber Search crashing causing Bank to display "-1" has been fixed.

I’m guessing digidec hasn’t changed at all since the release which fixed DMR clicking. I think that was in the first update in September last year.

Today for the first time I tried listening with headphones to a few BBC Stereo FM transmissions and unfortunately the stereo decoder doesn't seem to be able to stay in stereo mode. The result is that every second or two it jumps disconcertingly between stereo and mono, almost as if the headphones had a poor jack connection which was being moved slightly in and out. The headphones are fine and an alternative pair are the same.
I checked that the mode was FMST with IF bandwidth of 200kHz (I tried 100kHz also) and played around with the attenuator settings but can't fix the problem despite these being very good strong broadcast signals.
The problem is only apparent when there is a large difference in the content of Left and Right channels so I'm assuming there is some problem decoding the L-R signal.
I haven't yet updated the Firmware with the most recent version this year.

Is this another bug to add to the list or am I alone on this one?

I checked the behaviour of my AR5700 in FM stereo mode. It's working fine without jumping temporarily to mono reception.
I have installed the latest (March 2026) update. On the print screen you can see the configuration.

Hi 5700D team,

Do you know where i can find the list of firmwares versions
How you have the information when a new firmware is arrived ?
AOR don' t communicate like he can do on DV1, DV3 and DV10
Why ???

Today I have the 403A D3N5A P603A

I see in last exchanges the version 403A D4NCA P603A ???

What is the last version ?

Thanks by advance for clarification and advice about this history and firmwares changes
