AOR DV-10 question

I have seen online listings for AOR DV-10s for sale by people in Japan. If I were to buy an AOR DV-10 from a person in Japan what charger does it come with? Would it fit the standard American 110V two prong outlet or do I need to also order a different wall wart for the charger to fit American outlets?

This doesn't answer your question, but why are you looking to get one? I had one (actually 2 sort of) and they both sucked. You can't use it with an antenna attached directly to the unit as the internal noise is extremely high, it scans slow and if you want it for NXDN scrambler decode that is very hit or miss.

I was mainly going to use it for DMR since my BCD436HP is hit or miss at best with DMR. And also I want a radio that when it comes upon a transmission it will automatically detect what digital mode is being used and start decoding accordingly. The 436 does that but I only have P25 and DMR in it and is unreliable with DMR. I love my Icom R30 but it's biggest shortcoming is that it won't detect the mode automatically.

The internal noise is sort-of a problem, but I've found mine to be workable enough for exactly your use-case. Just know that it's a finicky device that will probably require some play to figure out exactly how to use it in a way that's productive for you. I will often carry mine in lieu of a scanner or radio when I really just want to listen to what's around me and don't want to talk to people.

To answer your question, the Japan model comes with a 2 prong supply that works in the USA. I think the Japan version is the only one that comes with accessories. The EU models dont come with a supply or antenna.

Thanks for the replies. I might delve deeper into reviews before I do anything. Is there another handheld scanner or receiver that will automatically detect digital modes and decode CTCSS and DCS on analog transmissions besides the AR10 and the Uniden scanners?

Both the Whistler TRX-1 and TRX-2 do all that

The 436 has a threshold setting for DMR that you should set to manual mode and 6 to be able to receive unknown systems. While observing the d-error value you adjust the manual value for lowest bit errors. The automatic mode usually goes lost and end up in a very bad setting that doesn't decode anything.
