You guys just discovering Rig Pix??? A excellent reference and I use it when radio shopping. Several AOR models are missing; they produced a slick single channel thumbwheel selectable receiver (like the later 70's and early 80's ham ht's) with outstanding performance. Don't know the intended market but think it was aimed at professionals-you define who they are. This receiver was produced for vhf and uhf single band operation. Not certain but thought I had seen a dual band version. Would love to have one!
You are correct, AOR makes some extremely sharp receivers although somewhat quirky to operate. I had a 2001 while stationed in Italy and Greece and enjoyed many hours of mil AC monitoring that I do get to hear today. Sent it to AOR-Japan upon discharge. AOR cleaned it up and made several modifications that were explained in a letter from one of their engineers. Excellent product with excellent support. I will always go with AOR. Using a 8200 MKIII and first gen 8600.
