When FWFD has working fire's, once they arrive they say one of two things. (1) red line down, or (2) big booster.

What are the meanings of these?

Big booster is an attack handline (Inch and a half or inch and 3/4).
Red line is he red hose on the wind up hoose reel which is used generally for smaller fires. In some departments the red line is called the booster hose or booster for short.

A working fire designation has the FAO dispatch an air truck, Rehab (if staffed) and the Arson Investigator, also the Shift Tech is notified. (Shift Tech is an officer who manages manpower and staffing.).

You should see all the emails and text messages I get on multi alarm fires!
I also get working fire notifications via email. (Im on the notify list for those because of my affiliation with the Canteen unit).

Thank you! When there is a second alarm, you hear Mobile Command 1. That makes sense. But Tac 1 always goes along with it. What is Tac 1?
