• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

APCO 2020 Has Been Canceled

Decision made due to Florida health advisories

Dear APCO Member and Supporter:

I write to you today on behalf of the APCO International Executive Committee, Board of Directors and APCO staff to announce that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel APCO 2020 APCO 2020 | 86th Annual Conference & Expo.

Since I wrote to you last week announcing that we were moving forward with conference, several developments occurred, which culminated in a recommendation to the Board of Directors that we cancel conference and their subsequent unanimous approval on Monday, June 22, to proceed forward with cancellation. This past Thursday, June 18, the Mayor of Orange County, Florida, issued an Executive Order requiring the mandatory wearing of face masks effective on Saturday, June 20. On Saturday, Florida reported 4,049 new COVID-19 cases setting a record high since the pandemic began. Lastly, on Saturday, the Florida Department of Health issued a new Advisory where it recommended that persons not attend events in the state where 50 or more people would be gathered. With these new developments occurring over the past weekend, we decided that the prudent thing to do, to the disappointment of many, is to
cancel our event.

For those of you who have already registered to attend APCO 2020, we will soon be issuing you a full refund of your registration fees. We will also announce plans to meet our annual governance requirements for those affected. Please check the APCO 2020 APCO 2020 | 86th Annual Conference & Expo website for additional information regarding the cancellation.

APCO appreciates your devotion and support of the association and public safety communications community. We look forward to seeing you in San Antonio, Texas, August 15-18, 2021, where we will once again produce the high-quality education, speakers, networking and social events that you have come to expect from APCO. Planning is already underway for APCO 2021 in San Antonio. See you there....

Sincerely,

Derek K. Poarch
