Just like Mike said, no you cannot. Encryption is a totally different beast from digital transmissions. Encryption is the correct terminology for (lack of a better term) scrambling voice communications. Milford PD has been using encrypted transmissions on their frequencies for years over their UHF frequencies. Their radio systems are still analog. It is illegal for the average person to unencrypt (unscramble) encrypted transmissions.
Digital transmissions are voice translated to digital code (0s and 1s like computers) and then back to voice on the receiving end. Branford Police and some of their fire channels utilize digital transmissions as well as CSP.
A lot of people tend to be either misinformed or or misunderstand the difference between digital and encryption. Sin simple terms digital and analog are modes of transmission and receiving whereas encryption is the blocking of a transmission.
