Good Morning, I reside in Westchester County, NY and have found that APCO P25 Phase 2 is not used by any agencies I scan. I was only able to find one agency in NYC (New York City DoITT (700 MHz) ) that uses P25 Phase 2. In short, does anyone know of any agencies planning in the near future to switch to P25 Phase 2? I have a Uniden BCD436HP but when deciding on an additional scanner decided on a Uniden Homepatrol 1 since it did not seem to warrant spending extra $ for the P25 Phase 2 capability. Any info on the subject specific to Westchester County & NYC's 5 boroughs is appreciated.

Nyc has a new 700 system which can do phase 2 but unknown who will be using it.

Rockland is phase 2

Westchester is planning 700 phase 2 but still years away

P25 Phase 2

I appreciate the responses. Since Westchester County is my primary scanning target area with NYC following it appears P25 Phase 2 capability in my 2nd scanner can wait. Nassau County & Rockland County are not areas I monitor. I will keep my ear to the ground about future deployment in my area.
Regards,
Steve

Westchester is Smartzone and not capable of P25 Phase 2 since it is not a P25 system. I would not be surprised if they are looking to upgrade in the near future considering the tband givebacks and other incentives that the FCC might be giving to get off T-Band.
