hi everyone, anybody know the special event talkgoups like they use at new mexico state fair, balloon fiesta, & other events? other anybody know if they are digital or analog? please let me know. thanks!!

Hi

The State Fair usually uses some UHF Frequencies licenced by the state....don't remember what they are off hand.

Balloon fiesta security is usually contracted to APD and BCSO, and I believe they use a Tac or event channel on their Provoice digital system, which can't be monitored without a provoice capable radio. Sometimes they patch over to state car to car (155.55) and you can monitor the fiesta communications that way. Any security or event that APD or BSCO is going to handle is going to have to happen this way, as all they have is their Provoice Trunked radios.....they scrapped all their old VHF stuff.

Hi everyone!

I'm new to New Mexico, just moved here the first of June.

Here are some candidate freqs for the State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque:

453.800 R pl 167.9
453.250 R pl 167.9

They are licensed to the state and have "State Fairgrounds" in the license docs on line.

I can hear occasional traffic on both when I listen.

thanks bud for the state fair frequencies. but you know or somebody know any APD frequencies use at the fair grounds or they use the trunk system alike event 1 or event 2? if trunk system, they are analog or digital?

They use the usual 800mhz trunk system. It's digital, so unless you own a properly programmed digital radio, you are out of luck. Of course, most of dispatch is still using analog.

For the frequencies, check the database.
