Appeal Broadcaster/Admin Restriction on a Calls Group ID?

I've noticed several Group IDs that are restricted on archive to broadcaster and admin, but these are Law Dispatch, open air channels that seem as if they were mistakenly restricted.

Wondering what's the best way to appeal this or have this changed?

Contact the admins for my state? Or is it set with the Node broadcaster?...many of these are Group IDs that could conceivably hit multiple Nodes.

TG 51761 OSHP Aviation, (entered into RRDB as Law Tac) this is an in the clear talk group used to dispatch planes and helicopters, users then switch to enc tactical channels or interop as necessary, and check back in on this TG for dispatch such as responding to calls, updating dispositions or advising dispatch of location.

TG 62669 Cuyahoga Valley National Park 1, (entered into RRDB as Federal) this talk group is used to dispatch park rangers to routine in the clear law enforcement calls on park property.

TG 51666 OSHP F3 is a Post-Post Law Talk channel that probably shouldn't be excluded, as users are generally both law dispatch centers coordinating law dispatch functions in the clear.

51761 is not just dispatch and would also include discussions about searches and undercover ops and is tactical in nature.
51666 is law talk between posts, which is also tactical
Both are correctly excluded and I'd be surprised if they changed their mind on those two.

If you can get audio proof of this, put in a submit for info and have it updated

Some restrictions are perks/incentives. You can not listen to them unless your an admin or broadcaster. Want unrestricted listening, become an admin or become a broadcaster. Want jelly in that donut, you have to earn that extra perk/incentive. Like for the City of Ashville NC feed.. if your not in the game, you can't hear APD, even though the dispatches are "legal"... Same for quite a few systems on the "Calls" platform. Its just how it is. When I was still an admin and not pissing the big dogs off, I had fun listening to a lot that now I can't listen too. Seriously thinking of becoming a feed provider for a couple of things here locally that no one is covering.

You're misinterpreting how BCFY Calls works. Restricted talkgroups are only available to audio admins (no chance of becoming one of those), or to the individual providing the node that those talkgroups originate from. Becoming a dbadmin doesn't magically unlock those talkgroups, nor does becoming a feed provider for any other system/site other than one you're feeding yourself. The only thing becoming a feed provider does is give you a compimentary BCFY premium membership, which allows you to listen to unrestricted talkgroups and archives.

Why when I was admin did I listen to the now listed as restricted? A glitch?

I'm still an admin and I'm a Calls provider, and I don't have access to restricted talkgroups for any other system or node. I suspect that you're simply not remembering correctly. It's a moot point, as no one is going to be made a dbadmin just so they can listen to BCFY Calls.

We're getting off topic with this discussion. The bottom line is that a change of service tag will only be considered where there is ample proof that the current tag is clearly incorrect. I suppose you would have to appeal to the local dbadmin to get a service tag changed, but be prepared to plead your case and to ultimately have the appeal be rejected. The dbadmins are aware that submissions may come in attempting to have service tags changed in order to get around the Calls restrictions, so there will likely be additional scrutiny from now on.

Dispatching to searches and "special details," where they then change to tactical channels for the actual operation.

Sample transcripts:
Chopper 2, Columbus, U611en route to Geauga County for a detail; Ok

Plane 14, Columbus, 1017 en route to Cleveland; Ok

Plane 10, Columbus; Plane 10; 1085 en route to District 8; Ok

1581, Columbus; Go Ahead; Plane 11 District 3; Ok

Columbus to the Hangar; Go Ahead; Can someone give me a (call) reference the need for aviation help; OK

Columbus, Plane 11 back down at Akron; Plane 11 ok

Plane 13 Columbus; Plane 13; Back down at Sandusky, District 2; Ok

Plane 14 Columbus, back enroute OSU

Plane 14 Columbus, (back on station) OSU

Plane 13 Columbus, (back in service) en route to the pre-assigned detail; Ok

Columbus to Plane 14; Go Ahead over Springfield; Clark County is requesting your assistance with an escape; Ok, go ahead; Channel is XSO-12, XSO-12, and if you can't find it, I can patch ya'; I'll find it and go ahead.

Helicopter 2, Columbus; Helo 2; U611 is back at OSU.

Chopper 1, we'll be (in service) en route to Wyandotte County for a search

Chopper 1, we're back in quarters; Ok

Chopper 2 Columbus; Chopper 2; we're en route to Albany for a search

Chopper 2 Columbus, back at OSU; Chopper 2, Ok

Columbus, plane 11 down at Akron for fuel; Plane 11 ok

This talk group is the most basic Law Dispatch traffic. It was in the analog world too on their own channel.
Even the most sensitive information they routinely carryout on patches and in the clear Interop channels.

Don't ask me, ask the Captain at Aviation, (614) 466-4468, ADAviation@dps.ohio.gov. "What Talk Group do you use for dispatch?"

It's clear it needs to be switched to Law Dispatch and opened up to Calls for the public good.

Perhaps you should invest in hosting, develop a database system and software, then broadcast it for the "public good" with your own rules.

Exactly! I’ve been thinking about that. I’d like to consult LB3 on the need for a platform for a dynamic, collaborative solution for collecting and disseminating radio communications data for public safety and hobbyist users.
