Appleton awards $10.4 million police station project to Miron

Basically police station for A.P.D.. The project includes Miron's base bid of $10 million, plus its supplemental bid of $394,000 for adding 35 more parking stalls to an attached ramp. Boldt Construction's competing bid for the same work came in more than $27,000 higher.

Thanks for the link ! Very interesting and comprehensive report, glad to see they at least looked at a VHF high trunking system. I did not see the cost of the portables and or mobiles attached to the bottom line which will increase the cost significantly.
It appears that a 4 county joint 700mhz system with simulcast VHF paging would be the logical choice from this study....getting everybody to agree and pay there share maybe a completely different story.

Well, when you look at the economies of scale, these counties could get a much more comprehensive and capable system by working together to share engineering costs, tower sites, etc. than any of them could afford alone. There are many cost sharing formulas / arrangements out there. The real challenge comes in getting all the politics to work together
