• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone have a copy of the APX-6000 pinout? I have run into a situation that my boss wants me to find a solution for. We have a headset that our SWAT team uses on the current XTL3000s we have. It seems Peltor, the headset manufacturer, currently doesn't have a headset for our new APX-6000s. Motorola sent us some adapaters that supposedly are supposed to work, but of course they don't. What he wants me to do is to take the adapter they sent us and fit it to the headset. The problem is, I don't have a pin-out for either the Pelton MT15H69FB headset or the APX-6000 radio. If I had either one, I could figure out the best way to rewire it without causing problems.

As for the pinout on the headset, all I would really need is the pinout for the accessory port on the XTL300s that we use. I can figure out how to refit the APX6000 adapter from there.Any ideas?

From my notes, this is for TRBO and APX series:

1 (Coax Connector)GROUND
2 pin 2 "1-wire" interface for "smart" peripherals/accessories, part of the "impres" scheme
3 VCC (5V)
4 DATA +
5 DATA -
6 GROUND
7 SPEAKER +
8 SPEAKER -
9 EXTERNAL PTT
10 EXTERNAL MIC
11 EXTERNAL MIC
12 "GPIO_4" - usage depends on radio programming

Otto makes a APX7000 adapter: Deprecated Browser Error

This is the Otto XTS series adapter:

Sorry for the poor quality, could'nt find the source document. Use at your own risk. Good luck.
