To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Don't hold your breath. It'll take some time unless you've got a lot of purchasing power.
License MIGHT be for 2 years now.... but once you get access you will be able to download the software and not have to wait for the CD's to be mailed to you.
You may have to create a ticket and request access. Alternatively, get in contact with your sales rep and have them assist.

Do you mean you have an MOL customer account or that you also have that and a purchased APX CPS license? It takes both. I am not sure about current policy but a few MOL revisions ago the CPS would not show up unless you had an active purchased license.

You just have to sign their software agreement. Give them a call; I had mine done in a couple of hours.
I have always had luck buying sealed copies of the DVD for APX programming software on EBAY for cheap for like 30 bucks. I am not sure if that's right or wrong but its sealed and sold by somebody else. I just take on the assumption that if its sealed that its legal
Usually they are copies, specially if they are low priced than normal or latest releases or have multiple versions included or older firmware on them in a separate folder.
Well at least now you will be able to download all of the new firmware updates and new versions of APX programming software since they also make revisions to their software constantly

Fake CD's printed to look legitimate with a pretty picture, dates on them, downloaded from various leaked internet sources
The seller says "they receive them sealed from their distributor" "Limited stock buy it now" Is 100% bull**** and they go very far to not include choice words like "software" in their listings so it becomes more difficult for motorola copyright searches to find bogus software listings even if they are they're still admitting to distributing copyrighted software
I find it hilarious they're trying to pass off software that was discontinued nearly 15 yrs ago on a CD with a date of last year and "factory direct" software includes a hack and the "do not make illegal copies" is the icing on the cake
What else does this guys shop sell?
Can we get "legit inspection sticker direct from the DMV"? Can I get a legit drivers license from Guam?

It's better than paying 300 bucks for software for personal use. This is FLEA-BAY at its best. Plus if somebody has the nerve to sell copyrighted software on EBAY then they deserve whatever comes their way down the road. I always buy on the assumption that people are honest and if Motorola knocks on their door and serves them court papers then its on them not me. You can't go after anybody legally on EBAY for buying anything. It would be on the seller to take the hit.

Software that you acknowledge, on this very public forum, isn't lawfully yours to purchase because you never signed the license agreement with the vendor.
The whole "purchased in good faith" argument goes in the toilet the moment the lawful owner of said intellectual property can prove by preponderance of evidence that the buyer knows, or should have known, that the seller was peddling fraudulent copies of the warez and the buyer never received a license agreement from the maker stating they could legally purchase and use it.
You can't buy a Cadillac for a dime with a non-existent title and claim it's yours. Come on now.
Eventually the APX line will phone home like others to solve that issue I'm sure.
