• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am a sys admin on a Moto 7.19 system and we just purchased the flash update to enable High Speed Data(HSD) before the keys get here, i was looking to start prepping our cpg's but i am unsure what settings i need to configure to enable HSD. I am aware they may not be visable in the non-flashed version of the cpg i am just curious where i will look when the keys do arrive and I start to re-tool our cpg's. any help would be appreciated!

Do you mean HPD (or Enhanced Data)? Most of the changes you would want to make fall under the data profile, which you then assign to the Trunking System. HIGHLY, HIGHLY, recommend working with your MSI ST, or whoever is deploying the data to make sure everything is set up properly. There is little to worry about on the Codeplug side though, it's really not a time consuming endeavor like manually maintaining a UCL.

I was thinking he was referring to the tethering to a LTE modem via WiFI, but I've never actually encountered that before.

Could be since although it's been "kicking around" for a while, you need to be 7.18+ and he said he is 7.19. Never really tested it in full myself, but it has been implied to me that anything that can leverage IV&D (or Enhanced Data or HPD for that matter) can be routed through modem tethering. If you are getting into that, programming would be a little more time consuming depending on what features are being used (AMS, ARL, OTAP, OTAR, etc) since you would have to have intimate knowledge of the network design and topology between IV&D, your mobile broadband, and the various components whether it be IMW, KMF, RM Server, etc. Point being you would have to make sure the packets can make it from whatever is hosting the service and the subscribers. Again, this is why leaning on the STs (or appropriate channel partner contacts if that is the route they are using) is important.

Definitely reach out to your CSM and STs. This is a highly technical topic, and since Motorola never released a "7.19" system I suspect perhaps some more research is in order. 7.18 was the last of the 7.x system names for Astro25- maybe you are a 2019.1? You're going to need to make sure you have that feature enabled on your system and configure the records in PM before you start altering subscriber codeplugs.
