APX6000 upgrade features

Now in today's world it's easy to get depot/ lab and flash it my self however I don't want to do that. I'd like to do it right. I also don't think I'll get much help from Moto since I am a one person one radio ham. My radio has the fcc mandate 12.5khz and no FPP.

I'd like that removed and FPP added to my flashcode. What's the best way to get this done?

I am in Los Angeles California and have reached out to Sandy's communications but I am unsure if they will do this for a single end user. I also I am unsure if this is going to cost $500+ ?

There is no need to remove the 12.5 kHz mandate, even if you could find someone to do so legitimately (there's a reason it's called a MANDATE). You can still enter ham frequencies with 5 kHz TX deviation, as the mandate knows which frequencies are covered and which are exempt.

Assuming that you have a Model 3.5, adding FPP plus a bit of labor should come in way under a couple of hundred.

The APX5K might cause some issues though, since it's not a North America model (I believe it's targeted at the Latin American market). I don't if this will cause problems for a dealer in NA. Please let us all know how this works out - and thanks for doing things the right way.

As was mentioned the APX5k is a international market radio so your only option is to hit with depot if firmware is 17 or less as motorola will not sell flash upgrades in US for a Non-US radio.

APX5000 is not supported in the NA market. They won't even talk to you on the phone about it. Good luck.
