• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hey ya'll im at a bit of a loss here.

I have an APX 6000XE I am attempting to program on the TxWARN system. Conventional works fine with the national 7/800 interop channels but once i make a channel trunked instead of conventional it white screens and wont turn off. It also dosen't display anything except the menu options on the bottom. I have no idea and it still accepts my codeplug without issue. Let me know what information you need and I can attempt to provide it to you.

For reference the radio model number is H98UCF9PW6AN, and the flash code is D01048-201490-5. Is there maybe a feature in the flash code i'm missing? Let me know!

I suggest calling 877-8TXWARN and asking them for programming assistance.

 So many questions, but I'll just ask the biggest and most obvious.

Are you authorized to be on TxWARN? Let alone programming onto it yourself?
Yes I am authorized to be on TxWarn. As for programming it onto a radio, I wanted to avoid having to pay Harris County for provisioning a new radio.

To be clear this is not a TXWarn issue, this is a trunking issue on the programming side.

Your radio is being inhibited. Lucky for you they haven't decided to kill it so you can't revive it yourself.

If you don't have it programmed by the authorized shop, odds are that you'll never be allowed to use it on the system.

The radio shop is the only authorized keeper of that gate. Deal with them. Suck it up, buttercup. The ferryman must be paid.

Figured it out. Wasn't inhibited so thank you ElroyJetson for being unhelpful as your signature implies.

This is so wrong it almost became right again. Do you understand the sheer amount of radios that TXWarn has? It would take quite literally YEARS for Harris County to provision all of them especially when each agency has different requirements of its radios.
