AR5000 AR-5000 Squelch always open

Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to AR-5000 experts because I'm having trouble configuring the squelch. I have the N-SQL mode enabled and BUSY off when I turn the squelch rotary knob, but I still hear the FM noise as if the squelch isn't working. I haven't found if there's a "monitor" function activated that keeps the squelch always open. If you have any ideas to help me with the squelch configuration?

I have found that level squelch performs better than noise squelch on my 5700D and DV-1. If the 5000 has level squelch, try using it.
